Introduction #
Thank you for purchasing an Electroconcept product.
Please read this guide carefully before using the 4 Universes Artnet/sACN node.
Liability:
Electroconcept cannot be held liable for any damages of any kind, including loss of business, destruction of consumables (cassettes, discs, CDs, LED strips), or any other financial losses resulting from the use or inability to use your equipment. Furthermore, Electroconcept cannot be held liable for damages caused by misuse of this product.
Warranty:
Electroconcept products come with a 2-year manufacturer warranty (electronics). The equipment must be returned with prepaid shipping (customer is responsible for shipping costs). Any unpaid shipping will be refused. The equipment must be in its original packaging. The return shipping will then be covered by us.
The warranty excludes damage caused by user negligence, mishandling, or lack of maintenance (broken, burnt, heated, wet, or sand-damaged devices, etc.), as well as devices that have already been installed and fail due to improper installation or usage.
For the Artnet/sACN 4 Universes node, this product was tested before shipment. Incorrect wiring during installation voids the warranty.
Modifying your products is done at the installer’s risk.
Technical Specifications #

Connect your 4 Universes Node to your computer or network using an RJ45 cable.
Connect your DMX equipment using a suitable DMX data cable.
Default Configuration #
By default, the 4 UNIVERSES Artnet / sACN NODE is configured in DHCP, with 4 Artnet inputs and 4 DMX outputs.
You can configure your NODE Artnet/sACN using dmx_tools, available through a web page at the following address:
https://www.boutique-electroconcept.com/informations/dmx-tools-hid.html
Press the Connect button and select your device in the pop-up window.

You can find the IP address of the node in the Info tab. Enter the IPNow value in the address bar of your preferred browser if you want to access the web configuration page and inspect DMX packets passing through your node using the Status button.
Configuration Menus #
The IP Setting tab allows you to configure the IP address of the Artnet/sACN node according to your network. Make sure it’s compatible with the subnet you’re connected to. Choose the protocol type you want to use, Artnet or sACN.

- DHCP or STATIC: Choice of IP address assignment mode (manual or automatic)
- Device IP (static): Choose the static IP address of the node
- Device IP MASK (static): Choose the static subnet mask for the node
- Max Total Universe (1 OR 2): Number of universes to use
- DMX Protocol: Choose the protocol to use, Artnet or sACN
According to the Arnet standard, it’s recommended to use networks of the type 2.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x with a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0. In this case, the node’s broadcast address will be 2.255.255.255 or 10.255.255.255.
If you choose to connect your node to your home network, such as 192.168.0.x with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, then the node’s broadcast address will be 192.168.0.255.
The DMX 1 Setting, DMX 2 Setting, DMX 3 Setting and DMX 4 Setting tabs allow you to configure the behavior of the XLR inputs/outputs. If you want to use the XLR inputs of the node, you will need to use a suitable XLR gender changer.

- DMX: Choose the direction of the XLR, Output or Input
- Universe OUT: Identity of the universe to listen to on the network and send to the XLR output
- Universe IN: Identity of the IN universe to send to the network at the chosen Artnet or sACN address below
- DMX IN -> sACN out Priority: Priority level chosen for the outgoing stream (for sACN only)
- DMX IN -> IP Cast Out: Art-Net or sACN address to send the stream coming from the XLR
Attention: According to Artnet convention, the first universe starts at 0. We have chosen to follow this Artnet standard, meaning that for all universe settings, the first universe is called 0 (and this applies even to sACN settings).
In Artnet, you can choose unicast or broadcast mode.
For broadcast, you will send to the broadcast address of the subnet, either 2.255.255.255, 10.255.255.255, or 192.168.0.255.
For unicast, choose the IP address of your equipment to directly send data to it.
In sACN, you can also select multicast or unicast.
For multicast, the device will send to the multicast address corresponding to the chosen universe minus 1 due to our choice.
In reception, for example, if you multicast on 239.255.0.1 the 1st sACN universe, you will need to set the OUT universe to 0.
In transmission, if you want to transmit the 4th universe on the broadcast address 239.255.0.4, you will need to set the IN universe to 3.
The Device Setting tab allows you to configure the name of your interface on the network and the DMX refresh rate.

- Long Device Name (63 max): long name of your Artnet/sACN node
- Short Device Name (17 max): short name of your Artnet/sACN node
- DMX OUT: frequency synchronized to the received stream or fixed
- Fps Fixed DMX OUT: DMX refresh rate from 16 to 44 fps
The Infos tab contains various information about your Artnet/sACN node and allows you to configure the login and password for the web interface and to reset the Artnet/sACN node to its default settings.

- Firmware Version
- IP Now: current IP of the node
- Serial number: internal serial number of the node
- Login Page: NO/YES, choose whether to have a login page for accessing the node’s web configuration interface at its IP address
- Login: username for the login page
- Pass: password for the login page
- Reset Node: No/Yes, allows resetting your Artnet/sACN node to its default settings
Embedded Webserver: Additional Tools #
On the web configuration page, which can be accessed using a simple browser by entering the IP address of your Artnet/sACN node, in addition to the usual configuration menus, you will find additional tools to manage your Artnet/sACN node:
Save Parameters and Load Parameters for quickly configuring your Artnet/sACN node using a JSON file
Status Page to visually check the DMX values of the Universes passing through your Artnet/sACN node.

- Save Parameters: Saves the current configuration of your Artnet/sACN node to your computer for sharing
- Load Parameters: Loads a configuration stored on your computer into the web configuration page, once loaded, press Apply
- Status Page: DMX values in transit in your Artnet/sACN node through XLR input/output

Using the drop down list, you can select the DMX input/output to inspect.
